T.G.I.F. Volunteer Recognition Idea #8

Have fabulous volunteers? Struggling to find fun, yet affordable ways to reward them for their service to your organization? Find inspiration in our weekly T.G.I.F. idea. Each Friday, we will highlight creative ideas for a Theme, Gift, Invitation, and Food plan that make for a perfect volunteer recognition event. Let A Creative Touch inspire your creativity with promotional product ideas that show appreciation to your volunteers!

G.= Gift:  Our nifty card set with zippered enclosure includes 2 sets of playing cards, notepad and pencil (left). Or, gift your volunteers with our single deck of cards (below). This unique set of customizable playing cards is not only a great gift for your clients, it’s a great source of entertainment. The carrying case also makes them perfect for travel!

I.= Invitation/DĂ©cor:  A poker-and-card themed casino party calls for invitations made to look like aces, queens, or kings. Use “Welcome to Vegas” signs to decorate your venue and name tables after different games: Blackjack, Craps, and Poker, for example. Bright, neon-inspired lights set a funky mood for this party. Create dice-inspired centerpieces by painting square white vases with black dots, then filling each “dice” vase with red flowers for contrast. Set up a karaoke station for “Lounge Lizards” with song selections from Elvis and the Rat Pack. Designate volunteers with the highest number of volunteer hours as “High Rollers”.

F.= Food/Refreshments:  For a casino themed menu, select easy and glamorous items: shrimp, chicken, and veggie kabobs make it easy to stage card games and other fun activities at each table while your guests eat. Trays of hors d’oeuvres and mini desserts in shot glasses can be circulated between “card” tables. For drinks, think James Bond! Martinis are the perfect drink for a casino atmosphere, but Monte Carlo cocktails-Rye Whiskey, Benedictine, and bitters-also strike a classic drink note.  Don’t forget to remind your guests that “What Happens at the Volunteer Recognition Party, Stays at the Volunteer Recognition Party!
